Chronica mensual

Saint Mary's Church was founded in 1964, at Mont Saint Aignan near Rouen (Seine Maritime, France), by thousands of Christian families attached to the Catholic faith receveid from the apostles, and to the preconcilliary liturgy and Mass, and the Gregorian chant.

Saint Mary's Church is independent of any political or fundamentalist movement and, by it's legal constitution of any other ecclesiastical juridiction. It opens its pastoral ministry to al who, being aware of their weaknesses, seek God and want to participate in the liturgical and sacramental life of the church, confident in our Lord's mercy.

Saint Mary's Church is a member of the International Council of Community Churches that is linked to the World Council of the Churches in Geneva. Saint Mary's Church welcomes divorced Christians and gives them the consolation of the sacraments of the Christian life. "The sabbath is made for man ; not man for the sabbath". The church received from Christ a mission of mercy, not of condemnation. Divorce is a short coming that we can only regret. But to forbid the sacraments of spiritual life to divorced Christians who ask for them is contrary to the gospel's message and in scandalous.

Saint Mary's Church calls upon the priestly ministry, not only of those who have a vocation to celebacy, but also of fathers of families, according to the apostoloc usage and practice maintained in every Christian churches including the Uniat churches, i.e those united with the Roman see. Celibacy is a particular vocation which is not given to everyone. To make it mandatory for priestly ordination is a constraint that Christ never imposed upon his disciples who were in fact married. Priests must be free to choose the state which best suits them, according to the gift they received, to fully live their faith and announce the gospel to everyone.

Saint Mary's Church received its Holy Orders from the Right Reverens Cornejo Radavero. He was consecrated a Roman Catholic bishop on April 16,1961, by Cardinal Landazuri Ricketts, Archbishop-Primate of Peru. Bishop Cornejo conferred the episcopal ordination to Bishop Maurice Cantor, founder of Saint Mary's Church. He also confered Holy Orders to the priests who form the church clergy community. The Roman Catholic universities of Toulouse, Ottawa and Louvain certified the validity of Bishop Cantor's episcopate. The sacraments of Saint Mary's Church are therefore validly administered.
